Howdy

Need some help options

Long story short have an order coming that will need help

Had a Fish order containing 2 dwarf lions,a valentine puffer, and a wartskin angler from LA for my sons aggressive tank..Fish will not be delivered until some time monday. They have been in shipping since friday was suppose to be delivered yesterday(saturday) but ups lost them some how..

If they are still alive when they show up what steps would have the best chance for their survival

Thanks
Dave

Make sure the tank they are going into have a matching salinity or even a bucket with matching salinity that way you can avoid drip or any kind of acclimating.

Avoiding any more ammonia exposure than they already have is going to be key.

Live aquaria says they keep fish at 1.018 - 1.020sg

30 min bath in Methalyne blue will help the gills if the fish have been starved for oxygen. They will likely be in rough shape if they are alive. It's a long time to be in a bag.

Ya QT tanks are already at 1.20
I was thinking a methalyne blue bath

LA said to double the acclimating time but that did not sound right..was planning on getting them out of the bags as fast as possible.but wanted other opinions

I would get them out of the bags asap. No drip acclimating. If temp is way off float them for 20 min. If it's close get them out of the bags and into a MB bath.

Thanks

ya I will

Was thinking MB Bath..if the shock wasn't to much or just putting mb in tank for week..what ever will help the fish the most..if their even alive

You can dose a QT with the MB. Use it at the tank dosage and leave them there for 48-72hrs. Then transfer them to another QT and start whatever your normal process would be.

MB or Nitrofuracin Green works wonders in your situation. Fingers crossed for you and your son's fish!

Thanks for the help

3 of the 4 were(are) alive in bad shape but alive

we will see if they make it through the night

Just an update..

The fuzzy dwarf lion and Saddle Valentini Puffer are doing great and eating like little pigs. The angler(frogfish) is doing good as well..he has been tougher to feed..he is so small and hides alot and the lion keeps taking his dinner as I am trying to feed him lol..

My daughter really wanted a puffer but I might have to look into other options have all ready had to chase him away from lion fish at feeding time..puffer does not like to share food with lion...
