I’m looking for help on how to integrate a switch into skimmer cup that is easily removable for maintenance using a BOB and apex. Skimmer overflowing is one of my biggest fears as we’ve had previous bad experiences. As an alternative I do have leak detectors close by but I’d love to get help on something more direct. Thanks gang!

Attach float switch to skimmer cup.

Plug float switch to breakout box, lets say SW1.

Put in the skimmer code:
“If SW1 closed then off”.

Put in alarm code:
“If SW1 closed then on”.

It’s really quite simple :)

Another way is to use an Apex FMM module and an optical sensor.
Fold the sensor cord back on itself and secure it with a zip tie.
Then cut a short narrow slot into the edge of your skimmer lid.
Hang the sensor in the skimmer at the skimmate level that you want it to shut off.
Program as described above.
Clean the sensor every time you clean the skimmer cup.

Awesome ideas friends! I really need to take care kid this ASAP. I don’t have an FMM at the time. So if I use a float switch any suggestions as to which ones and from where and how to attach them to cup or lid?
