I have a 40 gallon breeder and it's bare bottom with about 40 pounds of live rock. I like Blue Green Chromis, Valentini puffer fish and Royal Gamma fish. I was needing thoughts on stocking this aquarium. How much is too much? Currently I have two juvenile Oscallaris Clownfish. Thanks for your time and sorry about the newbie questions. Happy 4th of July, thanks to the veterans out there!

Your clowns will get much bigger and more aggressive as they age, depends on how many chromis you want, little puffer but still eats your clean up crew, and the royal...... I've never owned a nice one they have all been mean

I was reading Chromis do better in a group, so maybe 5 or 6. Is that overstocked?

8-10 fish in 40 gal? Isn't that way to many? I would probably put 5 max

I have a 40 breeder and I'm debating whether or not to put a 5th in. I've got 2 clowns, plans for a painted clown goby and a blenny. I don't know if I want to put anymore in after that. I'm afraid of them feeling crowded and eventually bickering.

If you were just doing a school of chromis and a puffer, I would go for it. maybe depending on the amount of chromis go for the gramma. I wouldn't throw all of them in with clowns as well, though. Just my opinion.
It also depends on each fish though. Some are more docile than others.
