Hello all. I'm in the research/planning stages of what will be my reef tank. Technically, I'm not new to reef aquariums, and had a couple very successful tanks back in the early 90s. But life happens and, as I was getting married, I decided to pass the stock and equipment off to someone. Fast forward 25+ years, and I'm getting the itch again. Now, as I look at all the stuff that's available, I'm amazed by the way technology has advanced within the hobby. With that said, I'm popping in here to see what everyone thinks is a really good quality tank. My criteria are an AIO and in the 60 - 80 gal. range. I'm not worried about the cost of the tank but I do want quality and reliability. Looking forward to seeing what y'all have to say.

Thanks!

I just bought a Prostar tank with in cabinet sump, I love the tank, hate the sump. Next time I will go for just the tank and buy a seperate sump. I guess what Im saying is make sure the setup is ideal for you.

I’m currently running an Innovative Marine Fusion AIO and have no issues with them! But for something for the size you are looking for, check out their Shallow Reef (SR) Pro 2 AIO series.

With that said, I do regret not picking up a tank with an overflow and sump. You do really limit yourself on the variety of equipment you have on the tank, forcing you to really plan your build well in order for everything to fit, or in my case, having building custom stands to accommodate things like a refugium, which really adds to the clutter around the tank.

Thanks for all the replies. It's all appreciated. To clear it up, I'm looking for an AIO without an external (separate) sump.
when I started my tanks, I had a sump for each and, to be honest, it wasn't something I loved. I figure, as I'm getting older (53), I want to just keep it as simple as possible with some Zoos and other easy to maintain LPS. I'm still researching the possibility of maintaining a Crocea with LEDs, as the LEDs are a must for me. A small clean-up crew, a shrimp and, one of my favorites, a Black Cap Basslet. If, after moving to a new house, I see that I'm wanting a bit bigger, then I'll think about going the sump route. Thanks to those that have posted, I have a good list of manufacturers to look into.

Clams do great under LEDs. Good luck.

Hello. Nice to see you are back in the hobby, although once a reef keeper always a reef keeper, I would recommend the RedSea and the Waterbox brands for reef tanks, the tanks and the supplies with them are amazing, and as the new advances of technology take over the reefing community, these tanks are getting better and better. I could recommend the Proclear Pro star V2 tanks, but I’m not personally a fan of them. I actually have a RedSea currently and need to take it down sadly. Been running for just 5 months. I’m planning on selling and looking for the right buyer. I came here to help, not sell, but if you would like a high quality tank, totally set up. I would be happy to sell it to you. If you are interested, you can reply to this message.

+1 innovative marine, waterbox, and red sea all make amazing aio tanks, up to you what features and aesthetics though

waterbox has aio peninsula as well if you wanted to place the tank in a location that allows for that, or as a semi room divider

In AIOs all the listed manufacturers have good options now, but the dimensions can differ. Lagoon tanks are a pretty popular form factor these days and Innovative Marine makes some great ones that are AIO - shallow reef pro was already mentioned and at 34 x 18 x 16 is a great size for these tanks. The stands are aluminum too which is nice although some people don't like the glossy side panels.
