Looking for values of mother colonies.

i have a few large colonies that are ourgrowing my tank. Wanting to sell them but not sure what to ask. Don't want to ask to much but I don't want to give it away either. It is larger than a basketball around with purple and green.

Welcome to R2R! It's great to have you here with us. If I might suggest, you would probably do better fragging it up into more manageable pieces. Not the little tiny bits you see online, but good size pieces maybe the size of your hand. I'll tell you, there's a buyer for everything out there but it can be difficult to find one that's willing to pay the price for a huge piece like this... not to mention transporting it.

Welcome to R2R. I agree with Meredith as I just went through this on a recent remodel. Ended up breaking it anyway but I can tell you it was easier to get rid of more manageable sized pieces (not tiny). Besides, you get to keep a nice size piece for yourself and do it all over again later!!!

Yup agree very hard if not impossible to sell a colony that size.

I have 2 people who want to buy it I just don't know what to ask. It's basically 12x12

Our local stores will buy large colonies. Apparently there is a market for them. Not simply to frag, but to re-sell whole large mature colonies as well. As far as price that is really variable based on multiple factors including where you are located.

Maybe $1200 if you could get it off the rock without breaking.
