I need to do some research for an article.

Who lives in or near a big city with one or more crackerjack (or in millenium language "sick") LFSs. I need a few people from different parts of the country to go visit what you consider a good LFS and ask them a few questions.

If you'd like to help, comment in this thread, and I'll private message you.

Thanks for helping to make R2R the best it can be.

I dont live near a big city but there is a good store 2 hours north of me that i plan on visiting friday if you want me ask

I am about 20 minutes away from phoenix, which has probably 3 or 4 really good reef places. Let me know what you want me to do and I'll gladly take a day to visit them all haha.

Is there a reason you don’t just email them a poll/ list of questions yourself?

Kinda weird you asking other users to go do your legwork. Just my opinion

Often it's easier and more productive to ask questions in person than by email. I email sources all the time, but it can be extremely difficult to extract information in an email when it's so impersonal. Lots of stores don't answers emails for weeks--if at all. For example, I'm currently working on a piece about glass. I've emailed at least a dozen glass manufacturers, and I've only received a (helpful) reply from one of them.

@Seawitch I'm your huckleberry and personally know LFS owners in the Raleigh area who will shoot straight with me. :)

Can't resist the following. lol

Minneapolis and we've got a couple decent lfs but one that really stands out. I'd be happy to go for you. when my wife asks why I'm at the fish store again I'll have a reason this time [emoji3]

i have many nearby, some good ones are WWC, living reef, and something fishy.

There are probably more as well.

Let me know

Im in Austin and need to get some frozen cubes and liquid food in the next few days. I could ask your questions at the lfs

Why did you not post questions here

I could have. I thought it would be more efficient to tell the people privately since there are only a handful. You want to know?

The Breeder's Registry lists hundreds of marine fish that have been bred in captivity. But still 90% of the marine fish ornamental trade are wild caught. So, I'd like to get an idea from cities across the US, how may LFS stock and sell captive-bred and where do they come from?
