Looking to add my next fish and need help

So currently in my 109 gallon display I have the following fish which is pretty light stocked I think ? or could be wrong

1 - Foxface Rabbitfish currently 4-5" and I know I have seen some get 12"
2. Tomini Tang currently around 3-4" I think they get around 8"
3 . 2 x Bicolor chromis ( I think they are solid blue ) around 3" each I started with 4 and 1 murdered 2 of them and the 3rd severly beat up but I nursed him back healthy in QT tank and put him back in the display and the 2 have not fought since which has been for 8 months now
4. Coral beauty 3-4" currently
5. Common Clownfish 2 " right now
6 .Adorned Wrasse 3" right now

Knowing what I currently have in my tank what would the reefing community suggest would be a good next choice ????

Hippo tang probably would be too big for a 109 gallon tank in the long run. They need a lot of room. I think anything in the zebrasoma genus may work, such as a yellow, scopas, or purple tang.

Go for the Anthias! A small school of them makes for an awesome addition to the tank.
Just try and get healthy ones, many come in with uronema these days.

I'm going to second the anthias (I love the lyretail in particular). They look great when they're schooling. I'm also probably in the minority that just isn't on the tang bandwagon - pretty common in the wild and they seem pretty disease prone in reef tanks. Tangs ARE good CUC and their size/activeness is neat to watch, but I'd take a school of anthias over a tang any day.

I actually highly recommend NOT getting anthias. They don’t last long in reef tanks. I’ve tried them so many times and they’ve died after 2 months. Not worth it.

Wrasses are MUCH more colorful and they actually have a better track record.

I would go with one of the tangs, although not the Blue Hippo since it will definitely get too big for your tank. I personally would go with the purple, because you already have a yellow fish, and the scopes isn't as attractive IMO. To be fair I may be biased because I love purple tangs.

Anthias are normally harder to keep alive but if you go with anthias then I'd pick lyretails. I haven't gotten any but I did a lot of reading about them because I want to eventually get a few, and as far as anthias go they're one of the hardier ones.

@Miami Reef @Gtinnel I really want to try anthias again I think they are a beautiful fish . I had 5 lyretails when I was about 6 months into the hobby and sadly none of them made it . I heard they need constant feeding but they said the same thing about the adorned wrasse I have now " multiple feedings a day" I feed him 3x a week like all my fish . So maybe this go around 2 years semi matured tank the anthias will do better?

Short of that I am leaning towards getting a purple tang as the colours would be a nice contrast as I do already have a bright yellow rabbitfish

I have heard horror stories on purple tang aggression tho but my tomini is different size and genus so maybe they will be ok together ?

Agreed with anthias being tricky and if wrasses were an option on the list, I'd have chosen almost any wrasse. They're definitely a good pick for the "other" category.

how big is your tomini? how big is your display?

I guess I have on my side that the rabbitfish is the biggest fish in my tank so " tank boss " ? so maybe that will lower some of the tomini aggression or would you be worried about the new purple tang being the aggressor ?

If you are going to do Anthias the Lyretail are the easyest to keep and vert beautiful. Odd numbers. They do need to be feed 2-3 times a day. I added 5 to my tank and one is turning male. Its kind of cool.

I added 5 Blue Eyed Sea Goldie's about 5 months ago. They were all about the same size give or take a little. It looks like one of them is becoming a male! They all get along except for the smallest one. The chase her the most and she stays at one end of the tank usually. Its hard to get them...

My tomini is probably about 3 inches and the purple is a little bigger at around 4 inches. My display tank is a 125.

My purple is just finishing 4 weeks of copper today, so I will probably leave him in qt for another week or two before transferring him. If your foxface is like the ones I've had in the past they're not the boss of anything. Mine were scared of their own shadow LOL. Yes it would be the aggression from the purple tang that I would be most worried about.

I added my purple tang to my display tank 2 days ago. The purple chased the tomini a few times the first day, but nothing violent and nothing constant. I would just consider it asserting dominance and yesterday I didn't see any aggression at all. So at least for me adding a larger purple tang to a slightly smaller established tomini tang seems like it wont be an issue.

My quest is to keep fish for a long time once we swipe them from the ocean. Some consider keeping Anthias a couple of years success. Rarely do I hear of anyone haveing long term success with them. As a result in my humble opinion they are best left in the wild where they are reported to have much longer life spans. Unlike let’s say a properly kept tang which can live decades in captivity.
