looking to buy a blue cesp. piece

I've seen several pictures of the blue cesp. that appear to be a few different species. I'm very interested in a nice piece of it with picture provided to make sure it's the same coral I'm seeking. Now would be a good time of year to ship such a piece given it's poor ship history (I've only heard this to be the case). I have plenty of nice aussie acans to trade, but I do not have any rainbow acans to trade. I'm fine with buying a piece though.

sorry to highjack your thread but how do you keep it so nice and blue with the gold tips? mine lost all its blue for the most part...iodine maybe? too much flow?

Which one are you looking for? I got those two different ones from meisen in January and both are doing well. One like the one above (he said his colony was a wild African blue Cespit) and the other one is that light electric blue nastiness that can blind you if you snap a shot with flash...

I do dose iodine but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the color. Sorry I don't know why it stays blue.

I'll get one going for you. That one split and the frag was larger than the mother... I had to give the frag up to a guy down here for some stuff he sent with me to Nashville(which I still have...). So far, it stays small unless it splits. I'll get another rock next to it to get it started. FWIW, niether of them have any color under the T5's I just put over that tank. The African blue is a light blue and the electric blue almost looks the color of a blue pom pom... A flashlight changes that pretty quickly, so I think the MH adds a lot of shimmer on the spicules.

I want to be in line for the 2nd frag please... I was not aware that there were 2 kinds I hate 2 think I thought I spent all of that money on the wrong thing????? The 1 that I have is very blue but never realized there was one that was and elrctric blue.... but if you don't mind I would really like to see an electric blue... can you post a picture of an electric blue please....

yea, electric blue may not be the best description but it's the closest to the pic in the Veron book I've seen.

This was the first shot I took of it right after I got it. Having things in eggcrate on the bottom of the tank makes it difficult to photograph (macro doesn't like angles...).

This is a shot that pretty well represents what it looked like before switching to T5's. I'll acclimate it into my SPS tank this weekend and see if I get the same color back. Not my pics, so I'll post the link. Somewhere between the last pic on page 1 and the first set of pics on page 2. I was running Iwasaki 14K's (175W) with VHO's, but the light was much more yellow. It colored like the flash shots on page 2 all the time (much more so under flash).

Here are some shots under the T5's. I can't get a no flash shot in that area of the house (tried blocking it with my hand). I have a straight from the camera shot and an 'Auto Level' adjust from PS6.0. The electric blue isn't as impressive without flash under the T5's, but the spicules still glow. After the 4 electric blue shots, I've got a shot of the one from the wild African colony (no processing and auto level processing).

gflat where did you get those at? I've been looking for various kinds of Blue Cesp. but cannot find any. I'd really like to have that sparkly type in your photos.
