I am currently using poly filter in 3x8 squares instead of two 4 inch socks in my Fiji-24 Advanced Reef Sump. I am thinking of moving to a Klir Di-4 Drop-In Fleece Filter System. I realize that finding someone that has that same set up is going to be near impossible but I figured I would ask.

Anyone using these to products in conjunction with each other?

Technically the polyfilter is supposed to go after your mechanical filter. However, I am not sure how you would be able to run both unless you just put the polyfilter after the klir somewhere else where water would flow through it or just having the polyfilter in a filter sock or cup. I am curious if the polyfilter would still be effective if you placed it in the bottom of the drain to the sump right before the water goes to the socks. I have run carbon down there before,

Thanks for your reply. I understood that the Klir is a sock replacement. I also may be thinking the poly I am using is mechanical despite It’s passive nature. I intended to get rid of the poly in favor of the Klir. I suppose I’ll just have to try it after reviewing the return conditions. The measurements are close but so is the height for the emergency sock to skimmer section drain.

Just to close this out it fits and works correctly.

So this just drops into the Fiji sump? No need to change the plumbing?

It drops right in. If you have the dual four inch sock holder one has to be plugged. The water then flows in to the Klir and when the water reaches the eye it rotates.
