Looking to start first saltwater aquarium

Just get a cheap Aqueon tank from Petco. 100-200$. Then get yourself the other stuff and skip the sump for the moment.
Get a few fish, after 6-8 months, then get some corals if you like. I suspect by that time you'll have read more and become more familiar with what it takes.

Aquariums aren't for everyone, but you might find it very enjoyable! Welcome btw!

I just hope the different light will make a difference! The store felt like I could have sps and lps with this new light! I hope they are honest!

I think by doing it correctly from the start, you'll be more likely to stick with the hobby as it will be more enjoyable.

Exactly!,,, I appreciate your feedback, he had to Oder the pump but he admitted it was a better pump and after he looked, only $8.00 difference. I let him win on the protein filter he did argue about that! He told me point blank the light was cheap but was trying to get me a little cheaper!
