If you are looking to set up a reef tank, from personal experience I would go with one of the Innovative Marine AIO system. I would go with the the 40L or the 50 gallon lagoon AIO system. I think with this size tank, you get the ability to have an array of fish you would like as well as most corals. They are all plug and play systems except they dont include lights, heater and, wavemakers which you would need and an ATO or Protein Skimmer if you want. Also with this type of size you get some room for any mistakes you make especially at keeping stable water parameters. Good luck in your journey.
So I am a senior this school year and then I will be off to college. So from looking at the dorms it will have to be a desk aquarium, unless my roommate is cool with a larger aquarium. Really considering a Waterbox 20 gal CubeIt would depend on size! If you want something similar the IM AIO systems are very nice! I'm not a huge fan of the AIO due to the lack of size in the chambers in back, but they are nice tanks none the less. I would always advise snooping around locally for something used, you can usually get a good deal that way. What size ya thinkin?
If you are looking at smaller tanks you'll pretty much have to do an AIO. The waterbox tanks are very nice.
