I currently have a hood with two coralife t5 lights on my tank (came with the set I bought from someone else) and I am looking to upgrade to something that would look a little cleaner and also make it easier for me to get into the tank.

I have a 65 gallon 36 wide tank. Would two AI prime 16Hd be strong enough for mixed corals (mostly soft coral but a handful of lps)

Im thinking AI simply Because i think it would be easier to manage but I’m open to other ideas. I’m still newer to salt tanks so if someone tells me I’m way off base I can understand why.

For lower light it should be ok. I would hang them no less than 9 inches though so the spread is better. I have 3 on mine and it’s 36 inches at 9 inches off the water and if I turn one off it’s noticeable but if spaced correctly should cover. You can always add one later, 3 works great

That’s awesome you feel that way! Thanks you made my day!! It’s a Red Sea reefer 250 and yup rimless. Your tank will be there in no time. Seems like your taking it slow and doing what you want, it will be full of awesome corals soon. They fill up too fast Enjoy the process. Go with the two primes and watch the BRS video on them it will help with placement and height. For the price primes are a great value and they grow anything you put under them even SPS if you ever get the bug

These are beautiful. Thank you

Depending on budget really and exactly how far you want to go.
If you must have all the spectrum wifi adjustments and money is of no concern then go with your heart and what you want.
If it were me, i would save my coin and mount something like two vipars 165W or go a single 300W. Yeah you only get two channels and no wifi but they put out more than enough par on a good frugal budget, keep future tank size upgrades in mind before you commit yourself.
