lookuing for rastas ,creansicle ,and the real purple hornet trying to aquire on ebay just getting a little pricey wifey will kill me:crossedlips:

The problem is finding the real deal. I have done 2 trades and both are not the real purple hornets. For one they are so small, without a magnifying glass you cant see the alternating skirts. If they are real, then the Purple Hornets is overrated. I will try to get pictures of them and post. I will let everyone else be the judge.

The purple hornets are going to be expensive regardless if you get it on ebay or not right now.

yah im starting to realize put in a bid but was outbid with two days to go. i wont feed into this craze. i have my limits

I am learning this trait, it has taken me a while to realize I don't need every single new chalice that comes out, if i want it bad enough it will eventually present itself somewhere down the road and I'll nab it

they are small and like you said not very impressive in person. chances are you have seen them in a store and walked right by not giving them a second thought. a good macro picture can work wonders for a coral

ive seen the real purle hornets bought from some gary guy and they are beatifull i cant take that from them

well, they're purple, have got the gold circle, alternating colors on skirt. what else is there to the definition of a purple hornet?

btw, reefpets is probably the gary you were talking about deuce

i've heard someone say they're lemon drops, but lemon drops have green, not gold. i just think a lot of us don't have the right tank conditions to get the same colors as marv, jr, or the likes. i've def got an lps tank, and not an sps-able tank.

You should always wait till the last min. If you bid now it will only drive up the prices.

I gotta point out the irony: Based on Hypertek's true statement, simply by bidding on the PH, by default one feeds into the craze ("it will only drive up the price"). In other words, by bidding you express demand for an item of limited supply.

More food for thought: Once you grow them out, how much will you sell them for?

I'm being a smart a**, I know, and apologize in advance for offending anyone.

Hey, and Salt, my LPS tank is pretty dirty and dark. Do you think a good zoa tank is dirty and bright? That's my bias.

Dana, supply of the "true" PH is starting to increase. Thus, I'll sell a PH polyp for half the most recent eBay price. I only have three Rastas right now, so they need time to grow out; price on these seems pretty stable due to slow growth rate and fragility.
