I recently removed like 90% of the algae from my tank WhooHoo! but it revealed lots of weird stuff.
1 rock has this snail shell looking thing with something that moves inside when I shine a light on it. It grew on a rock that I covered in Kalk and h202 to remove some aptasia.

The same rock also has this weird curly thick piece of algae on it.

please ID both is possible but I really want to know what the alien looking thing is.

the algae thing is white with a braided texture on it.
the shell/worm thing is red

Looks like a barnacle. Waiting for better pics with white light to confirm.
Looks like a barnacle to me. Didn't know they were so weird looking. Why is it moving when I light it? Never even knew they can grow in reef tanks. Is it safe?

Edit: Huh could be a vermatid but I thought those were tiny swirly guys with a long point. Extra confused now.
found this post as well https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/some-sort-of-barnacle.336412/ but when I google it I only see the tiny swirly guys not this big one.

@Sisterlimonpot got it with the vermetid snail. It’s coiled like a snake. Seams to be a good sized one. Cover the hole with gel super glue. That’ll starve it.

Well thank you all for the help. Just to clarify my big guy is the same as these little ones? so I should just scrape em all off or do they need to be removed after scraping

speaking of heebeegeebees. That was my first reaction to seeing a peanut worm in my first reef tank. I was ready to burn the house down until I found out they don't suck the brains out of your fish. Bobbit worms, on the other hand...
