Looks like shredded wheat...?

Anyone have any idea what this stuff is? Found it in my sump, it looks soft/stringy, but it's actually firm kind of like fiber glass. Pretty sure it's organic, but I found a clump of it near the drain into my filter socks that legit looks like shredded wheat. This image shows only a small bit of it, but there's a plethora of it in my sump... Thoughts?

Looks like dead bleached algae of some kind. If have a scope could look at the cell walls to get a better idea.

I was dosing Vibrant recently to kill off some stubborn turf algae, nutrients dropped significantly... maybe why this stuff died, whatever IT is...?

My guess is sponges. I see it all the time in my sump.
