I have searched and searched and I can't find a solid answer.
Has anyone tried any pumps other than Current USA with any of the LOOP controllers, I.R. or Bluetooth? Does it work? Can it be made to work?

I would like to run a small Gyre off the LOOP bluetooth controller. I would think that as long as the plug is compatible and the voltage and wattage are in the right range that the controller would not really care what it was sending power to. Unless there is some kind of proprietary identifier in the pumps.

Happy New Year and Happy Reefing.

Have not tried it. I'm getting rid of all my current wavemakers and lighting when I change over to the new build. What I have experienced is that Loop is pretty exclusive. I wish you the best of luck!

As I was doing so more research it hit me that these are just sensorless brushless motors. From experience with brushless motors back in my RC day. I know switching any 2 leads changes direction. So as long as the voltage and wattage are within range it "Should work"(LOL) no problem with an adapter, if needed.

Have you had any luck with anything else working with your Current-USA LOOP system? I honestly didn't realize how exclusive it was until I already bought lights and two wave pumps. Before I buy a 3rd one, I would love to know if your gyre worked.
