Loosing battle

Coral look great except xenia. They lost their heads.

That's the last straw IMO.....get those nutrients up before anything gets worse than it is.

Right now it's not bad at all.

Personally I'd use a little liquid fertilizer with your NO3 and PO4 test kits.

But as long as things aren't getting worse, try taking your time and just increasing the amount of feeding. Be systematic and slow however you do it. My example was just an example...do what makes sense. I'd also probably use an auto-feeder.

+1 on the lose the Chem filters. I'd keep a granular activated carbon though.
You may have stripped the system.

Yup. Honestly , depending on the fish , I'd get some frozen to rotate into the diet.

I've killed Xenia with no nutrients.

So that and and in a week or two of the change , look for Dr tims one and only or bio spira. Its a bacterial booster pack basically.

IMO could be yes.
In my experiment , they Shrank up real small and the heads puckered.

Makes sense. I only added a skimmer a month ago and i noticed my xenia not doing well. Maybe the media I am using is taking to much out along with the 10 gallon water changes every week

N03 0
Po4 0 I feel like I am getting fulse readings.
I have 6 fish figured I have lots of nitrates

You know what they say about assumptions! If you can get consistent results with your test kits, then trust the results. :) You may need help with interpreting the results, but don't assume your test results are incorrect. ;)

Also agreed on keeping JUST some activated carbon running in case there are any toxins being generated by whatever this algae is....it's not too uncommon in this circumstance.

(I'd also get to reading on the first post of that dino thread just in case things do get worse....you'll be prepared and ahead of the game. Ask questions as much as you need to!)

And I'd say go to every other week on the wc. Don't make it work having a tank.
