So I havent posted in awhile, but Im having an issue with something going in in my tank... Ive lost a few $k worth the corals and Im at a loss... totally sucks... I have this green film algae growing on all my corals along with ulva... Ive had this ongoing for the past 5 months... goes away and comes back... its now killing my zoas... I use natural seawater for my water changes and do 55 gallons every week... the issue im having is Im checking po4 with 3 tests and dont know which to believe... Hanna is reading 2.4 salifert is reading .03-.1 hard to read color chart... everyone knows that... and api is reading 0... no3 is 2.5-5... I started running 10tbsp of rowaphos in a reactor and increased my fuge size from 40 gallons to 80 gallons and increased fuge photoperiod to 14 from 8... 2hrs before lights on and 2hrs after lights on... Algae all over glass and all over the corals killing everything... top off water reads zero... I dont know what test kit to trust... I did lights out for 3 days last week and it cleared the water and the algae was going away... gonna try that again... running a carx and im using up around .45 dkh a day mainly corraline now that everything has died... do I shut the carx off while lights are out so I dont get an alk spike? I basically shut the rowaphos reactor off because im not sure where im at really... just gonna solely rely on fuge until I get solid advice... Ive been told it could be green cyano and I should treat with chemiclean, but Im just looking for advice... Its a 300 gallon system with 175 of it being sump... 400lbs of liverock with 40lbs of matrix... alk stable at 8.45 ca 460 and mag 1465... Any advice would greatly be appreciated... It was an emergency, but now I guess since mostly everything is gone it kind of isnt... really sucks...
