losing color candy cane

i bought this candy cane a week ago and his color wont show up. its this normal?

parameters
magnesium 1200
calcium 360
nitrates 2ppm
alk 11.8

He should be opening his polyps by now.
He must be telling you that he's not in a happy place and he wants moved to better lighting or flow area
 
At a guess ..I would say raise your mag and you should see an improvement...I like too keep mine around 1350-1400 ..
Your alk is also a little on the high side ....10-11dkh is good if you have an sps dominant tank, otherwise 7-9 dkh would be fine ...your tank looks newish ..what salt are you using ..?
 
+1 on different location. Trumpets generally do not require much light but like a little extra flow. This varies ofc!

Your big three look just fine. Are they stable at those levels?
 
It's a little early to tell, but if the light spectrum its under is now different than the light spectrum it came from, it may be a slightly different color going forward. It happens.

This is the case with my candy canes. They were a neon green when I got them years ago and now for years have a bluish tint to them.

i dont know why my alk its too high. i never dose just wc once a month

i dont know what to do.
