Losing some acros and others are exploding in growth?

Some of my acros are rtn'ing and such and others are exploding in growth. The only thing I've been able to come up with is my nitrates not getting over 0.2 while my phosphates will almost have a wave or roller coaster affect from .03 to almost .1 I don't know how to lower my phosphates and raise my nitrates.

One thing I find to affect sps is a swing in the parameters. I think this is likely why some people have a hard time with sps such as myself. Wish someone would have told me that. Good luck man happy 4th!

I run a refugium 24/7 (I've tried 12 on 12 off and my phosphates rise)

The lighting is
2 orpheks compacts
4 orphek or120 blue plus
2 kessil a 360we

The only swings I could test was my phosphates (hanna phosphorous ulr)

I have nopox and tropic marin's version of a nopox

I believe they are in consistent flow
3 nero 5's
1 gyre 4k

No3 .09
P 22ppt (well .06 ppm po4)
Calcium 550
Magnesium 1350

Haven't added any new equipment and only upped my doser from 16ml a day of soda ash (brs) to 18 in the last month.

Are you only able to keep PO4 stable with nopox and TP nopox? I have 90g also. Only use chaeto and gfo to keep PO4 at .08.

I'm only able to keep my no3 stable at almost zero. It seems to not drop my po4 as fast or evenly

In my case I used a GFO reactor and reduced my fuge light cycle to keep a good nitrate / phosphate balance.

Be careful to judge acro health just based on color (since they are protective pigments some acros might show an interesting color and still not be receiving the best par). So if I were you I would take growth in consideration when considering a new placement for a colony (they can easily be striked beyond their photoinhibition curve)…

Have you considered an ICP test? I’ve lost some colonies before because of low potassium, for example…
