I've recently started acquiring various corals and placing them in qt after a dip. Shortly after suffering RTN. Has happened to a Mr Pacman also might be known as (needle in a haystack) and enchinata Hawkins.

Process I'm following is drip for about 30-40 min. 3-4x volume then dipping for 5 min in coral Rx as directed.

No issues with lps and a few other sps. Any advice or insight?

Often times the smooth skin acro’s are most sensitive to dipping. I sometimes shorten the length of time or dip in something more gentle like Melafix. Sometimes happens regardless...sorry for your loss.

I'm keeping corals in qt for 76ish days. Im removing frags from plugs or obtaining fresh cuts. Is it common practice to skip the dip on more sensitive sps and monitor? If I do this I'm risking infecting my other corals in qt correct?

I personally don’t like Bayer as you cannot see if anything that has come off your coral. Melafix is my preference otherwise Revive is my second choice.

i've had similar problems with revive. i've lost 2 rr wolverine frags to dipping using the prescribed dosage and less time than suggested.

Use a clear container and hold it up to a light and look through the bottom. You can see everything that falls off and if it's still moving or not.

Will amazon ship to Canada? Bayer is for sale on Amazon.

Lugols/Iodine is all that is left if the Revive/CoralRX ones are killing your smoothies. Lugols is something, but not as good as the others.

Too bad you can't use bayer. It works better and is significantly more safe. Never heard of or seen a problem with bayer -- but name ANY dip, and I've seen coral deaths..
