I did my daily feeding and found my skunk cleaner devouring my peppermint shrimp this morning. I've had them for about a year and was wondering if I did something wrong or if there was something wrong with my tank. My other peppermint and skunk are doing fine. My one remaining peppermint is about 3" big, am I about to loose him too?

I have seen a few sites that say 1 shrimp per 10 gallons, but I prefer doing 1 per 25 gals. I personally have 2 skunks in a 110 and think it is plenty. I think those 4 would be fine in a 75, maybe just give them pellets if there isn't enough food for them. As for the peppermint passing, it maybe it got hurt somehow after a shed or a small fluctuation in params caused it?

If the peppermint had just molted sometimes the other shrimp will eat them while they are still soft.

Thank you very much, I appreciate the information and help. I think I will be getting some more shrimp in the near future.

Sorry to hear. Hopefully you receive a surprise and find him somewhere in there.

I am soo excited, I got a new little peppermint shrimp and a new little skunk cleaner and they are hanging out just great together.
