Lost a Six Line Wrasse, Now Have Brown Floating Blobs

Hi all, I'm new to saltwater, and have a relatively new tank. I've recently lost track of a six line wrasse. It's been a few days, so I imagine it must have died within the rockwork.

Today, while doing a water change, brown blobs started floating around everywhere. Is this normal/to be expected?

That doesn’t seem normal to me. How old is the tank and what are the parameters? How big is the tank volume?

It's a 30 gallon that's been running about 6 weeks. There are no nitrates, nitrites, ammonia, or phosphates. Salinity is 1.025, and pH is around 7.7.

It's cloudy, as well. I added some Seachem Clarity to clear that up. With the filters back on after the water change, the blobs are all pretty much gone. Could it have been the mucus coating six line wrasse sleep in gone awry?

A mucus coating from the wrasse is possible - bacteria could be possible too. I’m surprised you have 0 nitrate or phosphate - maybe the stuff making the water cloudy is using up all the nutrients? Let’s get #reefsquad to help
