Sorry for your loss.
With wrasses, if the head fits the fish can (and will) fit. Any gaps in the cover which provide an escape path will eventually be found.
I really suggest a the clear netting with window frame that brs sells and other places if you have a wrasse, fire fish or jaw fish. They will jump out eventually.
I just got some of the clear mesh netting from my lfs and a window screen framing and bead from home depot and made one. They look really clean and neat and dont reduce lght.
I had just had a angel jump.
^ You can notch the screen frame to make room for any wires; keeps the top removable but still seals any gaps.

Yes, you'd replace them completely. I'm not a big fan of glass covers as they reduce gas exchange, trap heat, and get dirty and covered with condensation. And then that cuts down PAR.I think I will do this. I don't want to lose any more fish. Does it just replace the glass covers?
I wouldn't recommend that; if the screen can be pushed out of the way by a torpedo it surely will be.You might be able to lay the screen over wires and drape it over the back of tank. Bummer when the guys are a flight risk. Sorry

Yeah, that too. I've known of glass covers to kill a few, actually.
