My poor anthias have not had a good few weeks. I posted two weeks ago that I lost a lyertail in my observation tank after she had been there for months. At that time @Humblefish suggested doing a fresh water black molly test. A few days later, I lost the female anthias in the display tank - she started hiding more and stopped eating. The two black balloon belly molly's are alive and well in the quarantine tank after two weeks. Two days ago, I lost a second anthais - the smaller paler of the two in the tank. Likewise, she had no obvious signs of disease, but began hiding more With the molly's alive and well, I would guess that the fish who died suffered from aggression of the remaining. I just wanted to be sure that people a lot more knowledgeable than me would feel ok adding a fish of a different species at this time. We were hoping to get a blue throat trigger. Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

Please include your stocking list if able.

That has got to be frustrating. :-(

How often are you feeding and what are you feeding and how.

In display tank, we have five green chromis, one foxface, a kole tang, and now one anthias - a male. We lost the female two weeks ago. The tank is 300 gal. I feed nori and frozen food in the am, and frozen food in the pm. The frozen food is mostly rodger's reef food. They get some frozen mysis and some rod's frozen reef. Occassionally, they get pellets. The two anthias had been in the display tank for over six months.

In the observation tank, they get fed three times a day. Once in the morning, once when I get home from work, and again later. They get the same mix as above, but more mysis. (they seem to like it better). The observation tank is 75 gal. Its only inhabitants were the three anthias - now down to one, a cleaner shrimp, and a peppermint shrimp. The chromis were put in the observation tank in January.

Sorry. I misspelled the food we use. It is rogger’s.
