I lost my Dimond back goby that I had for almost two years. He ate the night before like always and the next morning he was gone. He showed no signs of being sick I tested my water and that was good. All of my shrimp snails and my star fish are fine. If he died I probably wouldn't be able to find him before the snails. I also checked around the tank to see if he jumped out. Has this happened to anyone else? It's just frustrating not knowing what happened.

I had two diamond back gobies.

First one jumped out when my wife forgot to close the top.

The 2nd just vanished! I looked everywhere for him. When I finally upgraded my tank I found him dried up behind my stand in a very weird location. He jumped from the 2inch gap of my glass cover.

My son loves the sand sifting goby but I refuse to get another.

If it went carpet surfing it may end up places you don't expect. If you have other animals they could have got it our boxer had a 8 inch goldfish of my daughter's when it jumped out. They also flip n wiggle into odd spots. Found a blenny under our sofa we couldn't find was a good 8 foot from tank n the boxer or dobe couldn't put it there lol. Sorry about the loss hopefully it shows up n is hidden in tank.

Im pretty sure thats what happened to mine. Any ideas for a cover I could put over a 75 gallon tank with internal overflow and canopy? Pics would be grate.

Mine jumped through a 2" space in the bank of tank where the glass was cut so it wouldn't hit the equipment. My son caught him flopping on the floor the first time in the middle of the night. The second time he wasn't so lucky. I don't know how he managed to jump through that spot with all the equipment lining the back of the tank?

Here's pic of top I made today for ours.

the clear mesh was ordered from another reefer on here and got damaged frame sticks from hd discounted and spline from hd. 15 dollars and no more lost fish to jumping ;)

Yeah I have a funny feeling he behind the tank. So im going to have to find a way to make a lid before a wast money on another one.

I've put in notches on another tank I built one for to go around the hob overflow and return that went over top edge of tank. Little more work but had about 1/4 between return or overflow and screen top.

That looks good. How hard was it to make? I would probably have to make one for each side of the tank because there;s a tank support in the middle of the tank.

Just cut frame to size you need corners add 3/4" to each end n they slip right into frame stretch mesh out over frame and place rubber spline into channel of frame then roll it in with roller tool. The frame sections are 84" long cuts easy with hacksaw. Did ours today at dinning room table took maybe 20-30 minutes. Frame sections ran 4 bucks spline was 4.50 I had the spline tool but they run 4 bucks for cheap one but I've repaired many screens for years with my cheapo spline tool. The corners are 4 bucks as well. But nothing hard really about it worst part is getting mesh tight use tape to hold in place makes it easier.

I have 1.5" gap in the back of the tank that mine jumped out of. Thought I'd be ok on not covering that part.... Guess not. They are jumpers.
