I have a 90 gallon with a RS-100 sump system. My tank has been running for 8 days and I started acquiring foam buildup in my sump where the hose sends water into the filter sock. Any suggestions as to what this means or how to take care of it?

Howdy and welcome
Have you tried changing the sock?

I have pulled it out and rinsed it thoroughly as it is only a week old. I am cycling the tank with a few damsels, does anyone think it could be too much ammonia?

It's just from using a brand new sock.
It will go away in time. Usually about a week.

This is the reason they say to soak new sick in ro/di or tank water outside the system before use.
If you have a skimmer, it should be going crazy right now.

I did actually soak it for a couple hours outside of the tank prior to use, it ran for 6 days before it started foaming. I currently do not have a skimmer as there is nothing to skim yet.
