Hello guys,
I have a Nuvo 25 lagoon and just got a Mid-Size Mightyjet DC pump. I plugged it in an wow it's loud! I tried to move/wiggle it up and down in the chamber but it's still pretty loud.
My friends have the same pump in the same tank and it's dead silent.
Just wondering of someone has the same experience. I've read somwhere that DC pumps could take time to be silent and need to be broken in, is it true?
Thanks
E.

I have the 326 and when I first got it the pump did have a hum, not loud but I could definitely hear it when the room was quiet. A week or two later it went dead silent. I've heard this is very common as they break in.

Just how loud is yours? There's a fine line between a break in hum and a rattling faulty pump. Also make sure it isn't coming in contact with the chamber sides.

It's definitely not a rattle, but a loud hum. I checked, it's not touching any chamber walls nor the sides. I'll give it a week or two to see if it gets better. Thanks for your advice!

I'm having the same problem. I installed a MightyJet 326 on my tank yesterday and this morning it has an annoyingly loud humming / vibrating sound coming from it. I didn't notice the sound yesterday when I first installed it.

The only time .invade noise was when the inlet was too close to the glass. I actually turned the pump 180 degrees and it went dead silent
