Loud Sump

Attached is a video where the sound of the water draining into the filter sock is quite loud. Is there a way to get this to be quieter? Maybe increase the amount of water in the sump?

I don’t but had the same issue with my sump. There are silencers you can buy or build yourself as well which will help with the splashing noise but will not fully silent it. the media cup with the polyfil made it silent for me.
just go to Walmart and get a big bag for a couple of dollars. Can place it inside your socks as well if you want to just try it out.
not only is it silent, but you don’t have to clean filter socks anymore.
This is how my sump was sounding when I first set it up:
Now you can’t even hear it at all anymore.
