with the three part you want to use the mag over the same time period that you use the gallon of cal. and alk. with your size of tank.

Why would you use the mag, or calcium in his case, if it is where it needs to be already?

You will only want to dose what is needed. That would be like saying, I have salt in my water, I guess ill just keep adding more salt.
