Hello everyone. What is the quickest and safest way to raise my alkalinity?? My current level is 6.7.

My parameters are:
Alk 6.7
Calcium 500+
Mag 1360
Phosphorus..01
Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 10ppm
Temp 79.7

Water change or an alkalinity additive. Just becarefull not to raise too much at once with an additive (maybe no more than 0.5 to 1 KH at a time). When a similar thing happened in my tank, I just dosed twice a day for two days to get it back up.

I’m still learning this dude if the hobby but I have been using B-ionic 2 part dosing. When I first started my alkalinity tests were not accurate but I didn’t realize and I dosed it daily trying to raise it. I got a new test kit after a few days and my alkalinity has gone from 7-12. So it seems to work at raising alkalinity.

With calcium that high I suggest you do it with water changes to bring the calcium down at the same time.

If you're not sure how your Ca got so high you should test your new water before using it and confirm if your salinity measurement is correct.
