LOW KH IN NEW MIXED SALT.

Hey guys

I use red sea coral pro salt, I did a mix about a week ago and left it there, I was doing KH test on my main tank and it was sitting very low at 6. So I decided to do a test in the new mix batch and the reading came back very low as well at 6.5, on the bucket it says it's a 11.5 kh salt. Does KH evaporate ?


Can someone please explain this to me.

Hello sme thing happens to me (if I don't use it right away) I think it precipitates out or something. Have You tested right after mixing? I just dose it back up & use it then.

Yeah I have tested it right after a mix and it came up as 11 dkh. But after leaving it for a week it drops so much.

That's a good drop. I usually don't uae it right away either maybe a day or two & I have a drop.

I currently have got myself a KH booster, which is a slow drip into my system. 5ml over a 1hr period.
