Low light corals

I have just set up a 25G tank. It’s my first reef! It has some LEDs on it in a strip form (the type you buy from amazon). The lights cover the whole tank and do light it up fairly well! I am very happy with them for the price I paid! As this tank was a budget build I couldn’t go for my desired lights such as the AI Primes but as this is my first reef I will only be keeping basic beginner corals. My question is, what are the best beginner corals that are fine with less intense light? The lights are full spectrum and I have put a timer on them. They can be full blue, white, blue & white etc but they also include some greens, reds and pinks! I plan to upgrade the light when I get more comfortable with corals and want to get harder to keep ones! Thanks - Noah

Mushrooms, zoanthids, Acan lords, star polyps

Would green stars be any good on their own island or do they need very strong light?

Don't need very strong light. Definitely need their own island, unless you want your entire rockwork covered.

That's true. They don't need any light.

You could probably add Duncans (cousins of sun corals) to the low-light list too, especially if fed.

Yes. They rarely open under brightness

Favia/Faviids need very little light IME.

You will do just absolutely fine with 99.99% of Soft Corals.

A few LPS.

Just stay away from SPS and you should be groovy man.

You can probably do some digita montis or other super easy sps.

But you got enough light for most honestly.

BTW, sun corals are non-photosynthetic. Since they don't make their own food, they need fed.
