TANK SPECS:
40gal breeder that has been set up a little under a year, fully cycled, and stocked with softies, some LPS, and 2 Clowns sand sifter, and an sunset(?) anthia. DIY RapidLED fixture

Iv found a low light setting for my LEDS that mimics perfectly a low light blend that really brings out the colors and has a nice ambient feel to it. Im wondering if its possible to keep, mostly if not all softies, successfully in a low light tank. Im assuming their growth would slow down and possible color fade but am looking to see if anyone has done this or if this is a thing. Ill probably google around but i figured ill ask around here first. I know i could get into non-photosynthetic corals but that will be a different day

well it depends on the coral, some corals like mushrooms thrive in low light, some can't live without high light. It really depends.

all corals, soft sps lps live at different depths. You cant really group them by those titles. A weird myth. its actually species specific.. that interestingly means you can grow low light sps if thats a thing you want to try.
