Low Maintenance Corals

No coral is immortal and all have their strengths and weaknesses. All zoanthids are sensitive to nutrient swings. Look at how many complaints we get about zoas not growing in tanks with perfect parameters.

Blue digipora can tolerate tank conditions that will cause most zoas to wither and die. Xenia can't handle a nutrient drop and will receed if pH gets to low or nitrate dives for too long after a big water change.

On my short list of corals that that can tolerate common tank extremes and most likely to survive an asteroid strike:

Discoma and green rhodactis.

Green implosion palys.

Rock flower anemones.

Blue and Green digipora and green pocillopora.
Lol an asteroid and thank you very informative.

Do LPS corals need dosing and feedings?

What about softies?

I’m debating between going a full soft coral route vs having some LPS.

Do soft corals and LPS fight?
I read a bunch of articles, watch a dozen videos, and surf on here to get a concensus on the species im interested in. Dive into the knowledge. Thats part of the game/hobby!
