Low nitrate please help.

So I just tested nitrate at 2.5 ppm with Hanna checker. Been watching it go down over the past 2-3 weeks. My phosphates are at .18 ppm. I’m just worried the nitrate will bottom out. I pulled Cheato as to stop the consumption of nitrate. However my phosphate is higher than I’d like.
Question good call to pull Cheato?
Question 2 is 2.5 nitrate and .18 phosphate anything to worry about?

Nitrate should be 10 to 20 times your phos. .18 X 20 = 3.6 is the high end.

You are right in the sweet spot.


I would concentrate on holding there.


I see a lot of tanks running closer to .1 p04 and 20-30 no3.

h would be more in the 300 times higher range.

But those tanks seem to Run and look amazing.

So moral of the story is stability over chasing numbers.

Rather than removing the chaeto can you just reduce its size?

What about reducing the amount of time the chaeto light is on
