Low nutrient system

Great thanks randy! One more question, I've been trying to suck out the "cyano" with a turkey baster but I'm getting little to no luck which is why it leads me to believe that it may be dinos (some brown and some red) since it have small air bubbles that float up from some strains. Is it okay to scrub and blow it off the rocks? Or would that promote it to spread? Last night I lowered photoperiod of lights a bit, slightly turned down intensity, and running all blues. I don't want to shock the tank since I'm pretty coral heavy and don't want things to get out of hand

It can be hard to distinguish species, but viscous snotty stuff is usually dinos. I doubt blowing it off is a big problem in terms of spreading (it spreads fine anyway), and some may get skimmed out.

all this talk about dosing this or that... Just add some fish and feed more. That is all it took for my tank that was nutrient deficient, and its a heck of a lot more enjoyable to watch more fish, and double ur feeding than to add expensive additives to the tank.

Sometimes that is easier said than done. Many folks have certain fish they want to keep and employ a rigorous QT system so fully stocking a system can take some time. In the meantime, dosing to keep things healthy is option numero uno.

Can you post some close up pictures (with your blues off, if you run leds) so we can see what you see?

Here are some pictures with blues off..
