My system runs with very low nutrients. Obviously if I tweak one thing it affects another. For now I’m feeding more heavily.

People that maintain low nutrient levels, what are you feeding?

Thanks

I don’t have an ULNS, but my system is pretty low nutrient as I’m a big SPS lover. I feed mysis, nori, NLS pellets and sometimes clam and krill to my fish. My corals usually get Coral Candy and my couple LPS and anemones get mysis or krill coated in Coral Candy.

I’m doing mysis, reef chilli, cyclopeeze, and a seafood mix-it’s a frozen mix of chopped clam and other chunky stuff.

Was looking for ideas on other things to try. Maybe Rods various concoctions.

Thanks

There are 2 types of low nutrient systems.

1). Those that are there naturally.
2). Those that use GFO, Organic Carbon or Lanthanum Chloride to get there.

#1 is fine and you don't need to do anything. For #2, you need to make sure that you are sending a LOT of nutrients though before they are exported artificially - this is not a great idea except for the ultra-experienced that are looking to tweak a specific thing. #2 tanks are always walking a thin line of ultimate color/growth and crashing.

My tank is #1 with N of .1 and P of .005 to .01 and I just feed my fish 3x a day with pellets and then most nights with mysis. I do not feed the corals or dose any aminos or anything.

I try to keep a low but not ultra low nutrient tank. No3 .25ppm - .5ppm and Po4 .02ppm - .04ppm. I feed my fish New Life Spectrum pellets once daily, every 3 days a random of San Francisco frozen Mysis, Krill or Reef Plankton, every 3 days some Nori. For my coral they just get a half dose once a week of Polyp Lab Polyp Booster and Reef Roids. And I do dose .5ml/day of NoPoX.

I'm a #1 also. Nitrate around .5 and phosphate at .03. I feed rods and v2o frozen foods, with coral frenzy and reef roids twice a week.
