So I recently set up an new tank and at first my ORP was pretty low and made its way up slowly to 360 , yesterday I did a very small water change ( about 2 gallons ) and noticed my ORP dropped to 300 , and seems to slowly be decreasing , is this normal after a water change ? Should I be worried ? What should I do about this ?

Mine can go from 400 to 270 after a water change(220 gallon tank)....and over the course of 7 days it creeps back to the 400 number. I've never seen a reason to chase ORP numbers.

If I turn off my MP40's for 10-15 mins it goes down 30-40 ORP.

Ok awesome , I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t something that was going to drastically affect my tank, this is the reading I’m getting as of now

I’m the same. This weekend I went to a 24 hour AWC instead of manually changing water in 1 hour. That kept the ORP more stable. Here is my prior water change, exactly like your chart.

And the chart with the 24 hour AWC.

Like others, I don’t chase ORP but it’s an interesting number to keep an eye on and correlate with what is going on in the tank.
