I have heard that this time of year there isn't as much oxygen in the air as in the warmer months... I am wondering if anyone has had problems with corals in the winter because of low oxygen. Please let us know your story and what you did to fix it.

I use a air purifyer . Its makes the room more comfortable too because as you know salt eats up the oxygen from the air

I know carbon dioxide levels vary seasonally, peaking in the winter due to the lower amount of photosynthesis during that time. I imagine that could also lead to decreased oxygen levels as well, but the decrease is small and nothing to worry about.

could using air conditioning in warmer states have any affect on this I wonder? Heat as well? Anyone have any input on this?

I notice the opposite the winter month's in Florida I have the windows and doors open and my Ph goes up. In the summer when the central air is on the home has more CO2 and the Ph goes down. to fix the problem my skimmers air feed pulls air from the outside all year Ph only moves 8.1 - 8.3 all day

I have heard of pulling the air directly from outside a couple times now. I think that would fix it IF it were a problem. I plan on a little DIY this weekend!

Are you just talking about a HEPA type filter? I am curious about your method.

pulling air from the outside works, before my skimmer was my Ph during the summer would drop to 7.8-7.9 All I did was put a tube through the wall into the garage now it pulls fresh air.

Open your doors and windows once a week.......air out the home good for you and the reef.

Has anyone had this problem and corrected it?

What were the symptoms of your corals? I am wondering if mine are suffering from low oxygen...
