How does everyone deal with low PH due to adding calcium reactor? I have search the forums and most people need to add equipment like a co2 scrubber but i dont want to add anymore equipment? Any tips please?

Properly tuned, low pH should not be much of an issue. However, running the output over bioballs or more of your reactor media will eliminate the excess CO2 that causes the pH drop. I ran the output through a Cheato fuge. The Cheato used some of the excess CO2 when the lights were on.

so you run the output thru another chamber to help release the co2 before going back to tank?

Yes. It will drive off some excess CO2. A small phosban reactor might be enough. Make the efffuent water enter from the top and exit through the bottom.

You really shouldn't have a huge pH issue though. Make sure your pH inside the reactor is just low enough to produce the alkalinity you need. I prefer running the efffuent rate high and the pH inside the reactor a little high. This creates efffuent that has a lower pH but also a lower alkalinity. The higher flow rate makes up for the lower alkalinity.

Search CR Tuning posts from Jada. Good information in them.

thank you for the tips i an new to cal reactor just setup my first one yesterday. i understand alot of it besides the low PH issue.
