Low PH -New Tank

I have a 90gal tank running for two months. It has been through the tank cycle. But PH has always been low. 6.6 or 6.7.

I am using the fritz rpm salt.

I would like to buy a few drags but I do not think I can until I bring the PH up.

I did read that o2 connected to the skimmer would help but do not have this as an easy option.

Please comment with relevant advice.

"6.6 or 6.7" I would be very surprised if it is that low. I would first check your PH levels with a different test kit before you change anything. 6.6-6.7 is the effluent PH of a calcium reactor.

That is from a ph probe. Not a test kit.

I did purchase calibration fluid so I will do that today with the probe to make sure and do the chemical test as well.

I was reading 6.4 with a bare bottom and added the crushed coral. Ph came up to 6.6-6.7... but has not moved higher.

I calibrated my refractometer earlier this week. That was way off. Luckily my probe was accurate for that.

That's good! Have you tested your Ammonia levels? If they are zero, then check your ALK and CA levels. If they are in line it is definitely a PH probe issue.

I will do so today. I have not checked ammonia since it declined from the spike.

I have done two water changes since the spike. Last week and the week before.

PH has not changed.. through the water changes.

Sounds like it might be miss reading then. I will check when I get home.
