does anyone know how to raise Ph from 7.93 to 8.3
this is the most current parameters
calcium 429 ppm
magnesium 1440
alkalinity 8.386 dkh

I want to lower calcium and magnesium a little.
my salt brand is DD H2O ocean . Which is known to be high in magnesium.
thank you

based on your parameter I'd start with
1. Agitate surface water
2. Open a window near tank
3. Run skimmer hose out side.
I wouldn't worrie about ph. Just watch if it starts getting near 7.7 I'd dose with kalk. Can't help with mag. Maybe get more coral to use it

Honestly your peramiters are fine to me. I have a coraline problem that sucks up my alk which causes low ph. I have had ph 7.6 new issues. I slowly brought it back to 8.0 with kalk and now my kh is 8 calcium is 480. Mag is 1380. Coral has great color good growth.

I'd just let the higher levels lower on their own.

PH- wouldn't chase it. Especially just a small margin, I haven't check my PH in over a year.

I do dose kalk through ato, but NEED to, if you're tying to lower calcium for some reason, kalk is not the answer. Your parameters look ok.

Aerate the water with you return lines or a powerhead.

Stability is more important than a few decimals.

If you are not able to open window or run the skimmer line outside. I just started to use AquaVitro Balance since Saturday and so far PH went from 7.6 at night and 7.8 during the day to 8.0 at night and 8.1 during the day on my IM NUVO 20? Everything doing good and opening more everyday? Hope this helps or if anyone chimes in about this product.

7.93 pH is perfectly fine. Is that high or low peak? What are your high and low peaks?

Why 8.3?

429 Ca is great. Do you supplement anything that would boost Ca?

1440 Mg is elevated but nothing that would cause harm AFAIK and many have ran systems much much higher. Also, what did you use to test the Mg levels?

What are your salinity levels, what do you use to test your salinity levels, when was the last time it was calibrated, and what was used to calibrate?

Some good reading:

for ph use Seachem's 8.4

IMO, that is not the best option if you need a pH boost. The claims about pH 8.4 will not hold true in a reef tank, and it has a lower pH raising effect than sodium carbonate and a much lower pH raising effect than limewater (kalkwasser). :)

pH in a reef aquarium is only determined by the alkalinity and the carbon dioxide level in the water. Nothing else.

The CO2 level is often driven by the CO2 level in your home air, and since alkalinity is easily adjusted, the pH in a reef tank is not generally importantly impacted by the choice of salt mix. :)

I definitely would not lower calcium (it is nearly exactly at the natural level for 35 ppt seawater), and the magnesium is fine at that level.

The only way to reduce magnesium would be water changes with a lower magnesium mix, lower the salinity, or just do not add and magneisum for a very long time and hope it declines (it may or may not, depending on water changes, how you supplement calcium and alkalinity, etc.).

FWIW, I would not do any of those except the last one. :)

doesn't this kinda depend on when the pH was measured? If pH is 8.4 just before lights out isn't the tank fine?

FWIW macro algae will suck out the cod and raise the ph while consuming ammonia/nitrates, phosphates, and returning oxygen and fish food. So I prefer macro algae in a refugium.

That that's just my .02
