Low ph

Please help Ph 7.7 night 7.9 day. Bought kalkwasser reactor 8..1 - 8.2 never higher. Reactor keeps coming on at 8.1 8.0. Use about 8 gal of to water. New to this. Had leathers one clam for 6 yrs. Changed over. To sps lps always dies. All other levels fine plus we smoke. Please help.

When u over dos your kalkwasser it can kill sps and lps. Try use them with ato system too dos. And do u use refugium. If u have. Use on night time helps you keep you ph higher Like tank light 10-12 hr when tank light is off than turn on refugium light till tank life when on. Maybe that will helps you keep ph around 8.0-8.2

Anything at or above pH 7.8 is fine, and is not causing coral deaths.

Just started kalkwasser. Ph stays about 8.1. Before that lps sps dies. New to lps sps. Was tired of leathers switched over. And I don't have other items u said. Ty

Thank you for help ! All my other levels are fine could not figure out why.local fish stores told me it was Ph. They gave me probe to test. Stoped to 7.4 then max 7.8. But again thank you

At pH 7.4, hard corals will potentially suffer. At pH 7.8 they will be fine.
