So my Phos and Nitrate have recently bottomed out - (Insert sad face emoji here)
I have an IM SR 80 shallow reef tank. Mixed reef - 2 clowns, lawnmower blenny, diamond goby, cardinal and a yellow eye khole tang.
I have a mixed reef of LPS and softies.
I was running chemi pure elite, a small bag of carbon, and some purigen. Media basket with filter floss and a filter sock.

I took out the chemi pure elite and started to feed heavier. My HOB protein skimmer has been overflowing too - yay. So its currently turned off.

Here is the question - will feeding more frozen M shrimp and dosing AB+ every day keep the corals happy until my Phos and Nitrates come up ? I know this can take a couple few weeks after taking out the GFO. I'm trying to not change too much too quick.

Thanks ahead of time

Short answer, yes. Might consider dosing phos and nitrate if feeding heavy doesn't do the trick. I definitely noticed more algae growth while feeding heavier compared to just dosing N and P. Cyano growth is way slower (non existent now) since feeding normally and just dosing to raise numbers. Guessing cyano is able to process organics as well processed nutrients. Just go slow as you said you planned. I'd turn the skimmer back on personally. Getting rid of the gfo is already a big step.

I dose phosphate. It has been beneficial, IMO, to controlling issues that I first had with Cyano, then Dino’s in my tank.

I don’t need to dose NO3 at present, however I have had it bottom out prior.

Dose NO3 and PO4 as stated above. Additional dosage of AB+ could possibly leave a lot of organic nutrients and ultimately carbon source around to feed Red Slime, Dino, etc.

Thanks !
I had thought about dosing no3 and po4 but I wasn’t sure if it was necessary or not if I was feeding heavy twice a day.
I’ve also thought about moving my AB+ to every other day . I dose less than what I’m supposed to on a daily basis right now. Probably 75% of what the recommended dosage is.
