Low phosphates

Curious how your making out...I have the same issue with low if not 0 phos and dino's

Hi,
How do I increase my Phosphates in my tank?
All other paramiters are good, but my Phosphates are 0!
Having major troubles with Dinos and Dinoflagellates.
I know I need to increase the nutrients, but what is the best natural way to do this?
I'm in the UK, so will need to be something I can buy quickly as my corals are looking very sad.
Thanks in advance
I use reef roids for feeding which can bump phos up too high but with tinkering you will learn to get balance right to a level you're happy with

Hi,
Took the advise on using Reef Roids and bingo!!
Slow process as Troylee said don't use what they recommend as it could go the other way. I put a small bit at a time and tested. Today I managed to get it as it should be, and now my slime brown algae has gone, although I do have a little bit of dino's still present. Not as bad though. Things now seems to be picking up.
So yes, recommend that thanks to Troylee to whom I am eternally grateful!
Give it a try. Good luck ☺️

I must admit that I actually thought my test kit was not working as it was clear for over a week!
So I thought I'd put some water in my test bottle (as per instructions) and put some reef roids in it, and tested it to see. It turned blue, very blue, so I knew my test kit was actually working. My Phosphates were so low, completely off the scale in fact. So persevere with it slowly. ☺️

Got it. I have the same issue. mine must be so low it hasn’t showed any blue color on the test kit for the past 3 days. Been dosing neophos and feeding reef roids, let’s see what happens.
‘The dino’s have been very stubborn and not going away for about 2 months.

Have you got plenty of clean up crew??
I bought some new snails and a strawberry conch. The conch is amazing as it has already cleared the sand of dino's and you can see a line up the glass where he's been. Also hilarious to watch, especially with his little eyes staring at you.
It's a matter of patience I'm afraid. I'm not in the clear yet, but will keep fighting it.

I do have a lot for turbo snails and crabs. I need to find a conch, no one has them avail to buy by me.

I do mix it with some just-defrosted brine shrimp. It was a tip I got from one of the Tidal Gardens YouTube videos.

I usually leave all my pumps and filtration off for 25-30 minutes when feeding corals. Some of the corals eat very slowly (if at all).
This works really well
Thanks for that

Had this issue until I got an auto feeder, might be worth looking into. Gets old constantly checking PO4, now I check once every couple of weeks and usually climbs up throughout the week or two but is very predictable now with the auto feeder

I will look into one of those, probably do well as my partner often makes my tank look like a snow globe!!
I'll get onto that in the morning.
Thanks
