Yes.

If you run no CO2 (or an inappropriately low amount), I expect the media will precipitate calcium carbonate and reduce the alkalinity.

Thanks Randy! I’m glad to know this now, just got mine set up and running without co2 to check for leaks and all but sounds like I should get at least some co2 running here very soon.
