Lower Alkalinity Raise Calcium

Any suggestions on how to lower my alk and raise my calcium? Current levels are 12.9/395. I use a calcium reactor. Thanks.

what lvl alk is your salt?

I would do a water change with lower alk salt, then dose calcium after checking the new lvls.

Lower the CO2 rate to the reactor (or raise its internal pH) and boost calcium with calcium chloride.

Thanks. My current settings are high 6.55 and low 6.5 ph control. Think that’s too low?

Just right can only be determined by trial and error, but if alk is too high, and the reactor is adding alk, then the pH is too low.

Do you know your daily consumption of Calc and Alk?

Or is the calc reactor running around loose like a 8yr old with fireworks? Lol

If alk is too high its usually because there's too much CO2 pushing through the reactor and isn't getting enough contact time with media.
