Hey reefers trying to lower my phosphate in my 200 gallon what is the best gfo that’s not gonna be so expensive. I’ve been trying brs gfo but haven’t seen any changes just using the basic brs gfo

Chemipure elite worked for me

have you looked at making a lacl reactor..I saw a lacl reactor on here and also on reefcentral..went with the one on reefcentral.com due to ease of making..is working really well on my 180..

pumps 60 ml/min of water from the sump into the reaction chamber and 2.5 ml/min of 2 capfuls of lacl to 5 gal of rodi water. 1st chamber is the reaction, 2nd chamber uses a 5 micron filter to filter out the lacl..there is a good writeup on reef2reef.com and reefcentral.com

I am not interested in building the reactor..they are really easy to build..go to reefcentral.com and read the writeup..

I have used both the brs regular and high capacity in my 255 gallon. They both work well, but you have to use more of the regular. The high capacity is best bang for the buck.

They key is to tumble it correctly. I use an old reef octopus biochurn to dial the media in. Get about 4 months of use out of it. Then I only have to add media when needed.

I use the high capacity GFO and I need to use MUCH less than the recommended because it works so well! I don’t think I’d ever use anything else! It’s so good.
