im getting prepared to do a hyposalinity tank. Treatment calls for 4 weeks hug clock starts over if it goes above 1.009. So I'm trying to take into account possibility of human error or equipment inaccuracies in my measurement. Going to recalibrate refractometer using distilled water. But what is lowest salinity acceptable for fish?

Personally I would do 1.009, I had luck at that point too. Though, I have only done hypo a couple of times.

I'm not a big fan of hypo, but people I know who do it tell me they can get it down to 1.008 and the fish are still fine.

Thanks for the update. This is in my future as well. My strain of ich is very resistant to copper

If it is copper resistant, try formalin or if you can get it Chloriquine diphosphate (CP). Also, don't go below 1.008. Too stressful on fish as their body osmoregulation point is right around there.

I'll keep up with any news. I tried to upload a video but I was unsuccessful. I don't know what your system is bug I'm sure that having a larger could of water has made it easy for me to hang in bt 1.008 and 1.009. And a good ATO is maditory
